Garment Care:

  • It is strongly recommended to have your garment(s) professionally steamed or ironed prior to wear, as wrinkles may occur from packing and/or shipping.
  • Most Kricket Marie garments are made from 100% silk
  • It is highly encouraged to self-clean when you can.  A simple at-home steam will do wonders for cleaning purposes.
  • Use only a highly-vetted, specialized dry cleaner. If excessively sweating, dry clean all garments immediately after wear. The cotton lining will hold onto sweat, and if unable to be cleaned and dried immediately, it will affect the fabric greatly.
  • Composition of classic design KMA corsets for the dry cleaner's knowledge:
    • cotton coutil inner lining
    • steel boning throughout (important to avoid rusting during the cleaning)
    • silk charmeuse fused outer layer (important to not submerge nor soak)
  • Skirts are most often 100% silk outer layer, fully lined in 100% silk haboati or a lower-weight of silk charmeuse.
  • Gowns are most often similar composition to skirts as above. Some gowns will have a cotton coutil inner corset for structure.

How to store your items:

  • If ordering separates, the corset may be stored on a hanger. Unlace the garment so that it may be folded in half widthwise. Fold over the hanger so that the middle vone is the center point on the hanger and the sides hang down evenly.  Stor the modesty panel somewhere flat.
  • Your corset may also be stored flat, as shipped to you. Lay your corset flat (i.e. a box) either folded in half widthwise or laid out in full.
  •  Skirts and most silk dresses are able to be hung either by the hanger helpers as sewn-in, or on a regular pant or shirt hanger. Avoid folding, as silk will crease if weight is applied.
  • Wherever you store your garments, ensure it is a dry area. The materials do not do well in damp, stale, or stagnant air.
