Why did the company name change from Ma Corsetière to Kricket Marie?

As the founder, when I launched Ma Corsetière, I did so with a deep love for the art of corsetry—a timeless, intricate craft that celebrates the silhouette and honors heritage techniques. Over time, however, my creative journey has grown beyond corsets alone. I found myself dreaming in full silhouettes, draping gowns that tell entire stories, and designing pieces that live far beyond a single category.

The name Kricket Marie Atelier reflects that evolution. It carries my personal signature and speaks to the broader scope of what I create: bespoke gowns, sculptural fashion, and couture pieces that transcend just corsetry alone. This change allows the brand to grow with me—for longevity, and to welcome every future collection without boundaries.

While corsetry remains close to my heart and the centerpiece of the brand's values, this atelier is now a space for full-expression couture. Thank you for growing with me.

What about my Ma Corsetière order?

The rename of the company has not altered any order status for existing clients. All orders placed with Ma Corsetière are unchanged. Client will need to do nothing further – all orders consisted of a sales contract and paid deposit are held to their original Ma Corsetière Sales Contract as valid.

How to re-lace your corset

Your Ma Corsetière corset will come with 1/4" satin ribbon lacing. There may be times where you need to re-lace your corset. The photo below shows the example of the 'bunny-ear' method as Ma Corsetière utilizes. This method is done using one long length of ribbon that ties at both the bottom and waistline. All tightening ("lacing down") is done at the waistline. You will need someone to help you lace-up your corset. Corsets without a front busk may have to be laced when placed up against the body. You are welcome to trim the ribbons once you are laced in.

Please reach out to Kricket Marie for more in-depth instructions.

How to collect my measurements

Some tips for measuring:
• Take your measurements during the morning and before any large meals. Do not take your measurements after a large meal or at nighttime.
• Use a soft measuring tape – one that can wrap around your body with ease.
• Double check that you are measuring in inches, not centimeters.
• Take all measurements two or three times to ensure accuracy and prevent mistakes.
• If you have large breasts that need a bit of extra support, measure your bust measurements with a soft, unpadded bra on. (Do not measure with a bra that will add any bulk to your measurement)

Below is a diagram of some of the measurements required for a Kricket Marie bespoke corset. These are to help get an idea of general sizing. After placing your order, Kricket Marie will be in touch with you via email with the measurements contract. This contract walks you thoroughly through each measurement as well as tips and rules to get each measurement. Please reach out with any questions.

1 Bust: Around the apex (fullest part) of the breast, usually where nipples lie.
2 Underbust: Directly underneath the breasts. Where underwire usually sits.
3 Waist: Circumference around smallest part of your waist. Where you naturally bend side to side.
4 High Hip: Circumference around the very top of hip bone – where the hip bone begins
5 Middle Hip: Circumference around the point where the hip bones protrude out the most. The highest point of your hip bones.
6 Full Hip: Circumference around the fullest part of your butt. Often falling below the waistline of garments.
7 Height: from the apex of the head to the floor, standing straight and without shoes.
